  • (For Chapter 30, 1606 and 35) All course fees are paid. Students must pay their course fees in full. Checks are to be made payable to UC Regents. All standard enrollment deadlines and late fees apply. All proper forms, as listed above, have been submitted to UCSD Extension's VA Representative. The University receives Post-9/11 and Vocational Rehab funds directly from the VA. It is the student's responsibility to certify their enrollment each quarter with the UCSD Extension VA Representative

Subsequent Enrollments

All chapter 30, 1606 and 35 students must contact UCSD Extension VA Representative each quarter after they have enrolled and paid for classes. It is the student's responsibility to certify their enrollment with the UCSD Extension VA Representative in order to receive VA benefits. (Post-9/11 and Vocational Rehab are paid directly to the University from the VA.) It is the student's responsibility to notify the UCSD Extension VA Representative each quarter to enroll.

Student Responsibilities

  • VA funded students are responsible for notifying the VA Representative immediately of any action affecting their enrollment status. Failure to do so may result in termination of benefits (drops, transferring to another class, change in program, etc.).
  • The student is responsible for any course fees or program costs not covered by the VA. Fees must be paid prior to enrollment.
  • Students must verify their enrollment with VA each month to receive payment for that month. Your enrollment can be verified on the last calendar day of the month by using the Web Automated Verification of Enrollment (Wave) at https://www.gibill.va.gov/wave or by calling the VA toll free Interactive Voice Response (IVR) telephone line at 1 (877) 823-2378.
  • Satisfactory progress toward the stated student objective must be maintained.
  • Follow the UCSD Standards of Student Conduct and Academic Integrity. Students will, at all times, when on any of the Extension campuses or in any Extension 'virtual classroom' (aka Online Learning), conduct themselves in an orderly and considerate manner. Violation of these standards is just cause for dismissal.

Tuition Assistance

Students who qualify for VA Tuition Assistance must submit the authorization contract from their Base Education Office in person at our La Jolla Campus at the time of enrollment along with your completed UCSD Extension Enrollment form. Your payment (or student share) not covered by the government is due at the time of enrollment.

VA Vocational Rehabilitation

Students who qualify for VA Vocational Rehabilitation Education Benefits must submit their authorization form prior to enrollment. Form can be obtained from your Vocational Rehabilitation counselor through the VA.
